DiagnosisDiagnosis: Snout cuneiform, a slight labial edge; interparietal broader
than long. Twenty-four scales round the middle of the body. Fingers four; toes three (ANDERSON & LEVITON 1966).

EtymologyNamed after Sergius Alexandrovich Chernov (1903-1964) (obituary in Copeia 1964: 466, and Doronin 2021 for further biographical notes).
