Type locality: Argentina, Chubut, Las Pulgas, 50 km from Musters Lake, elevation 800 m [45° 26’ S, 69° 38’ W]

Diagnosis 
CommentDiet: herbivorous

This species belongs to the patagonicus group (fide LOBO et al. 2010) or the indistinctus group (MORANDO et al. 2013). The indistinctus group contains P. felixi, P. indistinctus, P. videlai, P. castillensis (Marin et al. 2022).

Distribution: for a map of the indistinctus group see MORANDO et al. 2013. Not listed for Argentina by Avila et al. 2013, Zootaxa 3616 (3): 201–238 (although the latter lists patagonicus). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin indistinctus, not separated; indistinct [“...The homeomorphism of this austral Phymaturus is really remarkable...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
