| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Plestiodon iheyaesilvae sp. nov. is assigned to the P. latiscutatus species group, but can be distinguished from the relatives by the following combination of morphological characters: (1) MSR 24 (mean =24.0, mode = 24; n = 5); (2) C10SR 11 (mean = 11.0, mode = 11; n= 5); (3) PoSO 3 (mean = 3.0, mode = 3; n = 5); (4) PPN usually present (present in four and absent in one cases; n = 5); (5) longitudinal light line five; (6) DLL passing third dorsal scale row at midbody (in all cases; n = 5); (7) LL usually passing on sixth dorsal scale row at midbody (fifth and sixth rows in one and sixth row in four cases; n = 5); (8) EISPF absent; (9) body coloration of juvenile very vivid.
