| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Similar to m. mucronatus, except: Dorsal scales usually more than 32; femoral pores usually over 13; no parallel longitudinal dark lines on middle of throat; adult males usually with longitudinal dark lines following the edges of the dorsal scale rows; centers of scales light; collar involving not over 4 scale lengths longitudinally.
