| Etymology | Named after Yvonne Arias, a friend of the authors and champion of conservation efforts in the Dominican Republic, and especially in the Jaragua National Park, where this species occurs. “Jaragua” was a name used by native Amerindians for a large region of southern and western Hispaniola. |
