DiagnosisDiagnosis: “Weniger großschuppig als die anderen Unterarten (99-125 Schuppenreihen um den Körper, 14-18 Interorbitalschuppen); Tuberkel glatt oder mit schwachem Zentralkiel. Unter der 4. Zehe 17-22 Lamellen und Schuppen bis zur Zehenbasis, 15-20 davon verbreitert; 20-25 Lamellen und Schuppen bis zur Basis der 5. Zehe. Färbung und Zeichnung wie bei der Nominatform, doch Sättel selten longitudinal miteinander verschmolzen. Riesenwuchs, besonders im Süden des Verbreitungsgebietes:maximale Kopf-Rumpf-Länge 129 mm (male), 104 mm (female).” (Joger 1984: 159) 
CommentSpecies has been confused with T. annularis and T. parvicarinata (at least in Mali) and T. panousei (in Morocco, Mauritania, Western Sahara).
