Type locality: near Manantantely, 7.5 km directly NW of Tôlañaro (Ft. Dauphin), 24° 9’S, 46° 55’ E, 120 m elevation.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: A Paragehyra with weakly developed dorsal tubercles, not arranged into distinct longitudinal rows on body; no tubercles on dorsal surfaces of limbs; tail smooth, without transverse rings of enlarged tubercles on whorls; ventral scales of distal (tibial) segment of hindlimb not enlarged; preaxial-ventral scales of pes (metatarsal segment) relatively small and numerous, 8-12 scales along preaxial-ventral border of pes; infralabials diminish gradually in size posteriorly; small chin scales extend anteriorly on each side to contact postmentals, posteroventral corner of first infralabial, and entire second infralabial; claw-bearing segment of digits II-V of manus and pes with 10-14 subdigital scales; 8-10 small subdigital scales between enlarged basal scales and terminal pad of digit on manus and pes. EtymologyThe species is named for Gabriellà Raharimanana in recognition of her many valuable contributions to herpetological field work in Madagascar.
