DiagnosisDiagnosis: Nostril oblique slit, much nearer orbit than end of snout; tail circular in cross-section, or slightly compressed posteriorly; abdominal scales in 110-125 transverse rows (Anderson 1999: 297)

EtymologyV. g. koniecznyi has been named after the host of R. Mertens in Pakistan, Mr. M. G. Koniecznyi.
