Type locality: stream next to Sikulikap Waterfall at ca. 1200 m elevation, near Berastagi, North Sumatra, Indonesia.

EtymologyNamed after Latin lacuna = cavity, hole, and Latin lacunosus = full of holes, cavities, named after the gaps between the dorsal crest scales.
