Type locality: Mananga hill, Barberton district (2531 DD), Transvaal, 25° 58' S, 31°52' E.

TypesHolotype: DNMNH (= TM) 70037, adult male, collector H.G. Jacobsen 28 January 1981. Allotypes and paratypes: TM 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: This taxon differs from its closest relative P. i. wilhelmi Hewitt in colour,being blackish-brown to black dorsally with or without red lateral stripes and in having the nasals mostly (64%) in contact [from JACOBSEN 1994]. 
Comment 
Etymologynamed after the Type locality in the southern Lebombo mountain range.
