Diagnosis | Description: Postmental paired; no protuberant supra-auricular scales; dorsal osteoderms well developed over the entire body; scales of the sides of the neck relatively small; two primary temporals in contact with the orbit; the antepenultimate is the posteriormost supralabial to reach the orbit; anterior canthals lacking; four primary and three or occasionally four secondary temporals; three or four temporal elements in contact with the supralabials; 24 to 30 transverse rows of dorsals; minimum number of scales in any nuchal row usually (75%) four or five, six in 25 percent; caudal whorls 83-94; supranasals present, unexpanded; parietal separated from the medial supraoculars; adults a nearly uniform gray-green or grayish blue (in alcohol) above (Tihen 1954: 20). |
