Type locality: "Dajing Village, Jinggangshan, Jiangxi, alt. 940m," [China].

TypesHolotype: SNHM 82X118, a 460 mm female (17 Oct. 1982), Shanghai Natural History Museum 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: This species resembles Achalinopsis sauteri in having no loreal and preocular, which is an outstanding distinction from the genus Achalinus, but differs from it in that, 1) It has three rows of 23 dorsals each, with the outermost dorsals 11 times as wide as the adjacent ones. 2) There are two pretemporals, both entering the eyes. 3) The suture between the rostral and the nasal is far longer than that between the rostral and the internasal. 4) the whole body is blue-black with metallic or enamel lustre. 5) It has about 22 maxillary teeth. (Zong & Ma 1983: 63)
