Comment | Limb morphology: Limbless. Subspecies: Pietersen et al. 2018 elevated Acontias aurantiacus fitzsimonsi and A a. parietalis to full species but did not comment on the status of bazarutoensis or carolinensis. |
Etymology | Probably named after the color of some specimens in this species, from the Latin adjective aurantiacus meaning the color saffron, golden, or orange. Etymology (bazarutoensis): named after the type locality. |
