| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A species of average size for the genus having the third labial replaced on edge of lower lip by the enlarged first chin-shields; no lateral stripes present on the body; venter immaculate white; subcaudal region with a slight median peppering of pigment; above brownish gray, the scales faintly outlined with heavier pigment (Taylor 1950: 443).
