DistributionRepublic of South Africa (SW Natal, E Cape Province, Orange Free State), Lesotho; elevation up to 2,500 m or higher.

Type locality: Summit of Drakensberg Range, Natal.

EtymologyNamed after Latin nivarius, niveus = snowy, of snow, from the fact that it was caught during the winter on the snow of the Drakensberg.
