DiagnosisDiagnosis: The genetic results and the following characters: a species resembling A. agama, A. paragama, and A. africana but characterized by a much smaller snout-vent length of adult males (82 – 101 mm instead of 115 – 140 mm), a low vertebral count (29 – 34 instead of 40 – 56 in sympatric specimens of A. agama),and strongly carinated and mucronate dorsal scales (feebly arinated and mucronate scales in sympatric specimens of A. agama). 
Comment 
EtymologyThe name of the new species refers to its close relationship to A. africana.
