Type locality: Vallon des Singes, à Médine, Haut Sénégal.

TypesType: BMNH 1946.8.27.73 (and possibly additional specimens). 
Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: WELCH 1982 erroneously gave Senegal as distribution (Joger 1979, 1983). MEDIANNIKOV et al. 2012 do not list Western Sahara. Not in Morocco but found close to the border, hence possibly in Morroco too (Martínez et al. 2019, and pers. comm. 18 Jan 2021). 
EtymologyNamed after George Albert Boulenger (1858-1937), herpetologist at the British Museum of Natural History, London, and the most productive herpetologist in history (Uetz 2010).
