Holotype: ZMB 7916 [Agama cariniventris PETERS 1874]
Syntype. ZISP 5306, 1 specimen, “Mossambique.” Received from ZMB in 1879.
Holotype: ZISP 15637, adult male, “Khavast district of the Uzbek SSR, 15 km south of the village Julangar and 65 km south of the Ursatiev station of the Tashkent railway.” Leg: V. B. Dubinin, 29.V.1944 [pawlowskii] 
Diagnosis 
CommentThe holotype of Agama cariniventris is also a syntype of Agama mossambica. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
