TypesSyntypes: MNHN-RA 6761, MNHN-RA 6761A and MNHN-RA 6761B (3 specimens) 
DiagnosisDiagnosis (persica): Dorsal tubercles smooth; small tubercles presented top of the thigh; short forelimb; number of ventral scales higher than 32; head small; number of scales between tubercles 3; color light brown (from HOSSEINIAN-YOUSEFKHANI et al. 2017) 
CommentSynonymy: Smith (1935) synonymized A. persica and A. cruralis. This was maintained by Anderson 1999. However, HOSSEINIAN-YOUSEFKHANI et al. 2017 resurrected A. cruralis based on morphology.

Distribution: See map in SMID et al. 2014 for distribution in Iran. HOSSEINIAN-YOUSEFKHANI et al. 2018 have a map with both persica and cruralis with the latter being restricted to eastern Iran and W Pakistan. 
EtymologyNamed after its distribution in Persia (now: Iran).
