DistributionMountain regions in SE Spain (Sierra de Cazorla, Sierra de Segura, Sierra de Alcaraz)

Type locality: “Pledra de Aguamula, en la Sierra de Cazorla (Jaén). Fueron capturados todos los ejemplares en las márgenes del pequeño arroyo que corre al ple de la peña.”

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Since its description no other specimens of A. hidalgoi have been found. It may be an aberrant form of A. marchi although its identity remains unclear (ENGELMANN et al. 1993: 250).

Subspecies: Algyroides marchi niethammeri has blue throats. However, niethammeri was synonymized with the nominate subspecies by Salvador 1998.
