kephallithacius: Greece (Kefallonia); Type locality: Kefalinia and Ithaki; Agios Atros near Porös, southeast Kefalonia fide I. Doronin (pers. comm., Nov 2018).

DiagnosisDiagnosis. “Mit ca. 210 mm GL größte Art der Gattung. Etwa zwei Drittel davon entfallen auf die S. Körper sehr schlank und gestreckt. Die nach vorn angelegten Hinterbeine reichen mit den Zehenspitzen über die Achseln hinaus. Die diagonal gekielten Dorsalschuppen sind doppelt so groß wie die Flankenschuppen, die ihrerseits deutlich von den Ventralschildern abgesetzt sind. Diagnostisch ist weiter das große, dreieckige Occipitale. Adulte Männchen mit tiefblauer Kehle und roter Bauchseite; Iris silbrig (KLEMMER 1960, 1971*). Schädel hoch und stark verknöchert: Wie bei A. moreoticus, aber im Gegensatz zu A. fitzingeri und A. marchi, ist die Lamina superciliaris vollständig verknöchert; Temporalregion offen.” (Bischoff 1981) 
CommentSINDACO & JEREMCENKO 2008 consider Algyroides nigropunctatus nigropunctatus (DUMÉRIL & BIBRON, 1839) as of doubtful validity.
