Etymology | Named after Greek tetras (τετράς), the number four + Greek dactylos (δάκτυλος), finger, toe. (CUNHA 1970, Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., April 2024) The genus was named after Amapá, a Northern Brazilian state + Greek sauros (σαῦρος), lizard. |
