Etymology | Named after Dr. Antenor Leitao de Carvalho (1910-1985), a Brazilian herpetologist and ichthyologist, specialized in frogs. He became Curator of Herpetology (1941) and, eventually Vice Director of the Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro. |
