Type locality: Jérémie, Département de la Grand'Anse, Haiti.  
TypesLectotype: MCZ 3624.

Subspecies: Amphisbaena innocens caudalis has been elevated to full species status.

Specimens previously assigned to A. innocens have been redescribed as A. cayemite and A. leali.
