Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: Burt and Burt (1930) report a specimen from Chama River (Merida) under the wrong name of bitaeniata (fide DONOSO-BARROS 1968). Not in Caldas fide Jerez & Calderón-Espinosa 2014.

Type species: Ecpleopus (Xestosaurus) bogotensis PETERS 1863 is the type species of the genus Xestosaurus PETERS 1862, now a synonym of Anadia GRAY 1845. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
