Type locality: Colombia (in error fide OFTEDAL 1974 who suggested to correct it to “northcentral Venezuela”).

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy mostly that of Oftedal (1974).

Distribution: Not in Panama according to Jaramillo et al. 2010. Not in Colombia fide ARREDONDO 2013.

Type species: Argalia marmorata GRAY 1846 is the type species of the genus Argalia GRAY 1846, now a synonym of Anadia GRAY 1845. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin marmorata, marbled; overlaid with marble. [“...Brown, marbled with black-brown...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
