DistributionTurkey (S Anatolia from Burdur city to Göksu River)

Type locality: approximately 20 km northwest of Anamur, Mersin Province, Turkey.

TypesHolotype: ZSM 59/1983, female, paratypes: ZSM, BMNH, GNM, NMW and ZDEU 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: “Unterscheidet sich von den west- bzw. südwestwärts benachbarten Subspezies budaki und finikensis ganz augenfällig durch die extreme, meist auch adult noch deutliche Rückenstreifung (vgl. Tab. 3 u. Taf. 3 : 3-6 u. 7: 7)”. (Eiselt & Schmidtler 1987: 322). 
CommentSynonymy: Mostly after Karakasi et al. 2021, and MEHELY 1909 and Bellati et al. 2014.

EtymologyNamed after Turkish herpetologist, Prof. Ibrahim Baran.

A. d. bileki was named after Karl Bilek, preparator at the NMW in Vienna.
