Comment	Species group: Anolis carolinensis species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017).
Etymology	Apparently named after the relatively high altitude at which this species occurs. From Middle English, borrowed from Latin altitūdō (“height”), from altus (“high”).
