Type locality: Monte Verde, Guantánamo Province, Cuba. Terra typica (fide RODRÍGUEZ SCHETTINO 1999): Arroyo La Mariposa, Sierra de Trinidad, 4 km NW of Topes de Collantes, Las Villas province, Cuba.
