Etymology | Named after Dr. John Lewis Bremer (1874-1959) who worked at the Harvard Medical School as Professor of Anatomy (1931-). Barbour wrote that Bremer "has often most kindly aided me while upon collecting trips." A. b. insulaepinorum was apparently named after Isla de la Juventud and other surrounding islands close to Pinar del Rio. |
