DistributionSE Cuba

cyanopleurus: northern Guantânamo Province and extreme eastern Holguin Province. Type locality: Monte Verde, Guantánamo Province, Cuba; emended by Garrido, 1975, to "La Prenda," Yateras, Guantánamo Province, Cuba.

orientalis: southern Guantânamo Province, from Punta Maisi to upper Rio Ovando. Altitudinal distribution 1000 ft. to 2000 ft.; Type locality: vicinity of Punta de Maisí, Baracoa, Oriente province, Cuba.

Holotype: CZACC = IZ 1564 [orientalis]

Species group: Anolis alutaceus species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). 
EtymologyNamed after Greek kyanos = blue, and Greek pleura = side, ribs.

A. c. orientalis was nAmed after the Latin orientalis (eastern), in reference to the distribution.
