DistributionHispaniola (Haiti: Tiburon)

dolichocephalus: tip of Tiburon Peninsula, on Monts Cartaches and northern slopes of Massif de la Hotte, as well as adjacent northern and western areas; Type locality: Place Nègre, near Jérémie, Département de la Grand'Anse, Haiti.

portusalus: Presqu'île de Port-Salut.

sarmenticola: southern lower slopes of Massif de la Hotte.

Species group: Deiroptyx hendersoni species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). 
EtymologyNamed after Greek dolikhós = long, far, and Greek kephale = head.

A. d. portusalus was presumably named after the type locality, Port-Salut.

A. d. sarmenticola was named after the habitat, from Latin sarmentum = twig, branch, brush, and -cola.
