Holotype: BMNH 1946.8.12.97 (may be the type of Anolis curtus, fide P. Campbell, pers. comm. March 2019). 
Diagnosis 
CommentNot listed for Panama by KÖHLER (2000).

Distribution: Populations of this species from W Panama have been described as a new species, A. benedikti.

Species group: Norops auratus Species Group (fide Nicholson et al. 2012) 
EtymologyNamed after Greek pachys (παχύς), thick; fat, pump + Greek -pous (πούς), foot. [“...The feet are stout and clumsy...”].
