Etymology | Named after Michael H. Strahm, a herpetologist. He was originally Schwartz's pupil and became his friend. A. s. abditus was named after Latin abditus = hidden, concealed, possibly related to the behaviour of this species when it was hiding (Schwartz 1979: 23). |
