Synonymy: Listed as synonym of A. lucius by BOULENGER 1885.

Species group: Anolis lucius species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). 
EtymologyThe species name, argentum, is the nominative Latin word for silver, referencing the silver coloration of some specimens of this species.
