Ecomorph class: grass-bush.

Species group: Ctenonotus cristatellus species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).

Hybridizatioin: A. krugi hybridizes with A. pulchellus (Farleigh et al. 2023). 
EtymologyNamed after Carl (Karl) Wilhelm Leopold Krug (1833-1898), a German businessman who went to work in Puerto Rico where he became the German Vice Consul. He collected the holotype of this species together with Gundlach.
