CommentNot mentioned at all by NICHOLSON et al. 2012.

Species group: Norops auratus Species Group (fide Nicholson et al. 2012)

Synonymy after Peters et al. 1970, VANZOLINI & WILLIAMS 1970, and Poe et al. 2017. Gorzula and Señaris (1999) noted that Anolis eewi is distinguished from A. chrysolepis by shorter legs but this character is somewhat variable, which is why Myers and Donnelly 2008 supported to synonymize eewi and planiceps.

Species group: Norops auratus Species Group (fide Nicholson et al. 2012)
EtymologyNamed after Latin “planus” = flat and “-ceps” head.

A. eewi was named after Ernest E. Williams, who was often known by his initials, EEW.
