Type locality: Huancabamba, Peru, 1000 m elevation [actually Oxapampa, Peru, fide BARBOUR 1934: 125; actually ~1800 fide myrmeciaman, pers. comm. 10 March 2016]

albimaculatus: E Peru; Type locality: Cordillera Azul east of Tingo Maria, Divisoria, eastern Peru, 1700 m NN.  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesType: BMNH 1946.8.8.27-30 (and possibly additional specimens).
Holotype: ZFMK 34263, female, collected by R. SCHULTE, April 1981 [albimaculatus] 
Diagnosis 
CommentSpecies groups: Dactyloa punctata species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). 
EtymologyNamed after Mr. Enrique Böttger (1856-1944), the collector of the specimens in Huancabamba, Peru. Not to be confused with Oskar Böttger (1844-1910), a German herpetologist.
