Type locality: the southern high plateau of Abacapa-tepui (5° 12’ N, 62° 19’ W) (Chimantá V.), Estado Bolivar, Venezuela, 2,200 m elevation.

TypesHolotype: MHNLS (given as SCN) 10351, adult female 
Diagnosis 
CommentSpecies groups: Dactyloa heteroderma species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).

Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
Etymology“named after Carlos Todd, long active in conservation work, who participated in the exploration of Chimantá Tepui that resulted in the discovery of the new species.” (Williams et al. 1996)
