CommentSpecies group: Norops auratus Species Group (fide Nicholson et al. 2012) 
EtymologyNamed after Greek cymbos (κύμβος), cup + Greek ops (οπς), eye. [“...Eyes large; palpebrae projecting upwards, with a supraorbital disc of three rows of keeled scales, which are longer than broad...”].
