Type locality: Topes de collantes, Sierra de Trinidad, Sancti Spíritus province, Cuba, approx. 700 m elevation

Diagnosis 
CommentAnolis garridoi is a member of the twig ecomorph and is most similar to A. guazuma from the Sierra Maestra of eastern Cuba, but is smaller, has a shorter snout and differs in several scale characters.

Species group: Anolis angusticeps species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyNamed after Orlando H. Garrido (b. 1931), Cuban herpetologist and ornithologist and Curator of Zoology in the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, Havana, Cuba.
