Type locality: south of La Alegría, 14 km (by road) from La Bonita, Sucumbíos, Ecuador (77° 38’ W, 00° 27’ N).

Diagnosis 
CommentSpecies groups: Dactyloa heteroderma species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012). 
EtymologyThe specific name is a homage to Dr. Paulo Emílio Vanzolini (1924-2013), one of the most distinguished Brazilian zoologists. About Vanzolini see Heyer (2004), Bastos & Sa 2011, and Dirksen 2013.
