Diagnosis | DESCRIPTION: Size small (SVL in males to 40 mm, in females to 39 mm); total loreals 30-37; scales between supraorbitals 0-1; 2-3 (strongly modally 3) scales between interparietal and supraorbital semicircles; 2-4 (mode 4) postmentals; dorsals keeled; ventrals smooth. Dorsum generally chestnut-brown; a white labial band, extending over the forelimb insertion and bordered above by darker margin; a small, almost black spot on shoulders; no dark postocular spot; posterior face of thighs chestnut; throat white; venter gray with darker gray dots; dewlap rusty orange; iris brown (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 216). |

Etymology | Named after Anfiloquio (Rubio) Suárez, from Baracoa, “enthusiastic and tireless collector and lover of our wildlife.” |
