Species group: Xiphosurus cuvieri species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).

Terra typica: Jamaica (in error). 
EtymologyNamed after Georges Leopold Chretien Frederic Dagobert Baron Cuvier (1769-1832), better known by his pen name Georges Cuvier.
