Diagnosis | DESCRIPTION: Size moderate (SVL 72 mm in male); 2-3 rows ofloreals; scales between supraorbitals 0-1; 0-1 scale between interparietal and supraorbital semicircles; interparietal ovoid, much larger than auricular opening; suboculars in contact with supralabials; 5-6 postrostrals; 2-3 postmentals; nape scales somewhat smaller than middorsals; ventrals about equal to dorsals in size, smooth, subimbricate, in transverse rows; scales of limbs weakly carinate; supradigital scales multicarinate; tail round; dewlap large, not inset, scales evenly distributed. Dorsum (as preserved) gray, somewhat lighter on tail; a large, square, clove-brown patch over entire temporal region, bordered above by crescentic lilac-gray mark and divided by a pale vertical line; occipital region between these crescents sepia, lightening to wood-brown on snout; supraocular region olive-gray; 4 wide, brown chevrons across dorsum, breaking up laterally into irregular, diagonal, wavy, brown lines; tail with 3 dark proximal rings, incomplete ventrally; venter pearl-gray with a few scattered lilac-gray spots; in life, iris coppery brown with gold pupillary ring; dewlap blackish slate (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 250). |
