Type locality: Farallones de Moa, Holguin Province, Cuba.  
TypesHolotype: MNHNCU 291 (actually 2652); GARRIDO & ESTRADA 1989 give as type “MNHN 291” but they meant the museum in Havanna, not Paris. 
DiagnosisDESCRIPTION: Size small (SVL in males to 37 mm); habitus attenuate, tail long;
auricular opening oblong. Head olivaceous brown; sides of body colored similarly on anterior one-third, brown posteriorly; 2 small dark brown spots or marks behind eyes; supralabial line white over shoulder, bordered above by a fine brown line; venter grayish white; tail banded with alternating dark and pale rings; iris blue; dewlap reduced, grayish green or greenish yellow (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 278). 
CommentSpecies group: Anolis alutaceus species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).
