Distribution	Costa Rica Type locality: “about 15 km WSW of San Isidro del General along Dominical Road” (probably Puntarenas Province or near the border of Puntarenas and San José Province).

Etymology	Named after Latin marsupium, or Greek μαρσίπιον, pouch, purse + Latin -alis, adjectival particle. [“...From Greek word marsipion or Latin, marsupium = pouch bag, in reference to the axillary pouches...”].
