CommentFor illustrations see Wijffels, 1971; Lazell, 1972; Schwartz and Henderson, 1985, Baumeiser 2000. Has been synonymized with A. alliaceus by Günther 1888.

Species group: Ctenonotus bimaculatus species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).

Karyotype: 2n=29, X1X2Y (males) or 2n = 0, X1X1X2X2 (females) (Giovannotti et al. 2016)

Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality, Saba Island.
