CommentGÜNTHER (1885: 46) mentions this species from Guatemala and Venezuela.

Species group: Norops auratus Species Group (fide Nicholson et al. 2012) 
EtymologyNamed after one of the German collectors, Christian J.W. Schiede. Note, however, that the original spelling in Wiegmann 1834 is intentional and valid.
