CommentVenomous!

Synonymy partly after BROADLEY & HOWELL 1991. LANZA (1983) expresses doubt as to whether the subspecies scorteccii, from Somalia and adjacent parts of Ethiopia, merits taxonomic recognition; and the validity of the name nigrocollaris is similarly suspect (WELCH 1982), although PITMAN (1974) was inclined to accept the occurrence of this race in Uganda and southern Sudan (fide Largen & Rasmussen 1993: 330).
